If you want to get slim, you may want to shed some of your larger friends, a new study suggests。

Researchers from Loyola University found students were more likely to gain weight if they had friends who were heavier than they were, the Daily Mail reported。

However, they were more likely to either slim down, or at least gain weight at a slower pace, if their friends were leaner than they were。

Dr David Shoham said the results could help them develop better ways to treat obesity with teenagers."We should not be treating adolescents in isolation," he said。

據(jù)英國《每日郵報(bào)》報(bào)道，洛約拉大學(xué)的研究人員發(fā)現(xiàn)，如果朋友比自己胖，這樣的學(xué)生就更容易長胖。相反，如果朋友比自己瘦，他們就更可能瘦下來，至少長胖的速度會(huì)比較慢。同時(shí)，哈佛大學(xué)醫(yī)學(xué)院調(diào)查發(fā)現(xiàn)，在固定時(shí)間內(nèi)如果調(diào)查對(duì)象的朋友變胖,本人變胖的幾率增加57%;如果兄弟姐妹或配偶變胖,變胖的幾率將增加40%或37%。如果有個(gè)極其親密的胖子朋友，變胖的幾率增大3倍!相反交較瘦的朋友他也會(huì)變瘦

大衛(wèi)·索漢姆博士表示，該研究結(jié)果有助于他們找到治療青少年肥胖的更好方法：“我們不應(yīng)該再把青少年孤立起來治療了。”
